Every detail of a Walter Carmichael product represents the best possible example of craftsmanship. We never sacrifice quality or durability, period. We won't let anything get in the way of our commitment to deliver a superior product.
How do we do this?
We use only the best locally-sourced lumber available. Our Appalachian red oak comes from trees that were select-cut for their readiness to be harvested.
Our joinery techniques are chosen for their durability and aesthetic qualities. We don't do things the easiest way, but the results are beauty and lasting durability.
The finish on our products can only be achieved by diligent hand-sanding and careful attention to every square inch of surface area.
We're never satisfied until the design is perfected. We employ expert, skilled designers, and give them freedom to hone our products to perfection.
We never settle. We don't settle for cheaper wood of inferior quality. We don't cut corners - we craft them.
Our Promise of Superior Craftsmanship
We are driven to deliver a superior product, and we believe the only way to make good on that promise is to hire staff that is passionate about creating that product.
Our craftsmen are skilled professionals, committed to perfecting their work. Mike Wood and Jonathan Willard work side-by-side in our workshop refining prototypes of each product and then preparing the designs for production.
The Skill of a Craftsman. The Vision of a Sculptor.
